Monumenta is a public art initiative that monumentalizes our collective actions and stories.

Launched by Neysa Page-Lieberman, Monumenta is a community-engaged curatorial and production collective that engages artists, communities, nonprofits, civic agencies and more to co-create commemorative public art projects.

We collaborate with partners to envision, incubate, develop, advocate, connect and present our collective stories as monuments in public spaces. Projects are co-designed to be inclusive of the world’s diversity, centered in feminist practice, and working towards justice and equity in our shared public spaces. Some current projects center climate justice, tribal sovereignty , womxn's plant-based practices, crowd-sourced archiving, feminist suffrage histories and imaginative futures.

Monumenta developed from the Monuments to Movements’ SpeakEasy conversation series (2021-2023), which served as an incubator for new models to commemorate histories about movement building. Monumenta is a movement that grew from this program and which carries projects forward.
